So after the completion of Bruno Fernandes’ move from Portuguese side Sporting CP, Manchester United have made their second official signing of the January transfer window.
Nathan Bishop has arrived from Southend United.
Perhaps not the most high-profile name in the book, the 20-year-old has arrived on a two-and-a-half year deal, and made 39 appearances for his former League One side.

Despite clinching a new signing, United fans took to Twitter to voice their thoughts on the matter, with a couple seemingly frustrated at the club for not going for genuine first-team stars on deadline day.
As the three supporters of the Manchester side point out, perhaps the Red Devils should be focusing their attentions elsewhere on the pitch, like at centre-forward.
Star striker Marcus Rashford is currently out injured.
Who on earth is that?!?! Can you name all of these obscure January signings?
Many fans took particular issue with the fact that they have signed another goalkeeper, and questioned why they would make such a move when they already have the likes of David de Gea, Sergio Romero and even Dean Henderson on their books.
It does strike as a particularly surprising signing from United’s point of view.
The Red Devils could do with some much-needed reinforcements for the first-team as they lie outside the top four, and Bishop doesn’t fit that bill with his age and the level of competition he has in front of him.
It will be interesting to see how much of a part he will play over the coming months and years at Old Trafford.
